Shannon Noll for the Silver City
Thursday, 26th November, 2009
Shannon Noll will be seeing quite a lot of Broken Hill over the coming week, and vice versa.
On Sunday the chart-topping singer will be playing a concert with Jimmy Barnes at the BH Golf and Country Club and then he'll be back four days later with Father Christmas.
Shannon Noll is this year's special guest entertainer on the Indian Pacific's Outback Christmas journey. He will be arriving at the Crystal Street Railway Station on Thursday at 7.30am to serenade the locals and the Alma Public School will also be there to sing Christmas carols. Of course a Christmas show wouldn't be complete without Father Christmas. He will be there to spread Christmas cheer and and out small gifts at the station. Everyone is invited to attend the free show. The Indian Pacific Outback Christmas tour is now in its 9th year and previous guests have included, Nikki Webster, John Williamson, Marcia Hines, John Paul Young, Jimmy Barnes, Guy Sebastian, Human Nature and David Campbell. Sunday evening's outdoor concert at the golf club looks like being one of the biggest of recent times. According to promoters, the marquee tickets sold out "in record time" but earlier this week there were still general admission tickets available. Local band Vintage Unplugged will open the concert in the late afternoon before Shannon Noll takes to the stage followed by Jimmy Barnes in the night.
