Youngsters can turn their excess energy into easy money simply by running the boundary at weekend football matches.
Broken Hill Football League umpires coordinator, Shane Chapman, said there were plenty of places open for aspiring boundary umpires, with payment of $20 to $40 per game available.
“It’d be ideal for any 14, 15 or 16-year-old kids who want to earn some money, and girls are more than welcome” said Mr Chapman.
“But we do need still goal and field umpires too, and anyone who interested is welcome to come along to our meeting.”
A pre-season umpires’ meeting will be held at the Democratic Club function room at 6.30pm on Monday when a range of topics will be discussed such as training and minor rule changes.
“It will basically just be a chance to have a bit of a chat, and people can come along and we can get a feel of what they want to do,” said Mr Chapman.
Anyone interested in umpiring is encouraged to attend the meeting or contact Mr Chapman on 0417 269 214.
