St Joes may have taken out all grades in the local soccer competition last year but they’re not about to rest on their laurels.

The club is calling for all prospective players to come along and sign on for their 2012 campaign at a registration day at McDonalds between 11am and 2pm on Sunday.

St Joes Secretary/Treasurer Nardia Stubing said the club would be looking to replace players who have left town for various reasons, and also welcome some new blood into the club.

“Our numbers are still good but we’ve lost a few players to uni. We also get a lot of teachers and doctors who move on,” she said.

“Hopefully we see lots of old and new players on the day.”

Ms Stubing said the club offered a unique mix of friendship and success, and would make any new additions feel very welcome.

“We won all grades last year, we’re at our peak, and we’re a very family-orientated club.

“A lot of Mums and Dads and their kids all play. It’s a really good family atmosphere.”

Ms Stubing also encouraged all players who took their uniforms home after last year’s triumphant season to return them at the registration day.

“If the players could all bring them along it would be a great help.”
