Hot shots take aim at Lower Light
Wednesday, 14th March, 2012
West Rifle Club members will have success in their sights when they line up in the SA District Rifle Association and Country Teams Championship this weekend.
The shoot will be held at the Lower Light range north of Adelaide, with seven West shooters taking part.
They will compete with 7.62 calibre rifles in the off-rifle and handicap divisions and will be hoping to emulate some of the club’s past success.
“The competition has been going for over 50 years, and we’re the only club to have ever cleaned up all the trophies,” said club captain Peter Jackson.
“The standard of competition down there is always very good and a lot of the clubs have State team members.
“We always look forward to it and hopefully we’ll be able to do better than last year. We should finish around the middle of the field.”
