The Barrier Shinglebacks will travel to Lyrup in the Riverland tomorrow to kick off their Masters season against the Riverland Superdogs.

After weeks of hill runs in Sturt Park the old legs are still old, but the waistlines have improved and a bold showing is predicted against a team who no doubt will have a dubious recruit or three.

Representing the Hill for the first time at Masters level will be legendary North/Central/North little man Daryl Butcher; the dashing Jamahl Carr from West debuts in the backlines; whilst the local defence force will also be on show with Russell Dart patrolling the backlines.

With playing numbers a litle light on, who you gunna call? 1800 Dalby of course!

In the coup of 2012, Adrian Dalby is out of the phone box and will be racking up the numbers on the stat sheet before being equally impressive later at the bar.

With Coach Brett Morris unavailable, the magnetic board is handballed to North legends Rob Rule and Rod Garner to juggle the duties of Coaching and Team Manager.

Peter Jackson will be the photographer on tour whilst Paul OíBrien will be responsible for keeping the esky full 24/7.

Across the middle the Lizards will have some great legs with Hayden Langdon, Craig Thomas and Brad Pressler all in mint condition. Their run will be complemented by Steven Groves, Jay Robins and Anthony Farquhar.

In attack the twin peaks of Clayton Trengove and Jarrod Burke will give us targets, whilst Mark McHenry has a habit of talking the opponents into distraction and bobbing up with a few sausage rolls.

In defence the hard working Garry Sandy will lead by example, whilst Mason Kumm will be shaved down for a smooth performance on and off the field.

Late scratchings or recruiting may well decide whether the Lizards have enough juice in the tank to run out the game. Either way, rest assured the Lizards will fly the flag for Broken Hill.
