NIGHT FOR THE GIRLS: North’s netball and football women (from left) Amy Higgs, Tegan Gray and Holly Brennan are looking forward to tonight’s Ladies Night.

The North Football Club is holding a night especially for the ladies to launch their women’s football team and celebrate the women who support the club.

The “Ladies Night” will be held tonight after the Lightning Cup.

“We are having a garage sale from 7.30am, the boys will be in action at the Lightning Cup throughout the day, and we will finish the night with the Ladies Night,” said the club’s social co-ordinator Holly Brennan.

“It is a way of welcoming in women’s football and our new North netball teams,” Ms Brennan said.

“It is good to encourage this growing side to the club.”

Schnitzels will also be available from the bistro from 6pm to 7.30pm and there will be $4 cruisers all night, a door prize raffle, live entertainment by Jess and Mariah Byrne, desserts by Summalicous and the women’s football team presentation.

“Everybody is welcome; supporters of the club, mums who watch the boys play, friends and family,” Ms Brennan said.

“We thought it would be a great way to start off the season and celebrate the incorporation of women’s sport in the club.

“Rather than being just the guys’ football club it’s becoming the club that everyone can be a part of.”
