Some of the best racers in the country will converge on the city this weekend for the 2012 South Australian Production Sedan Titles.
Drivers from SA, NSW and Victoria will be at the speedway tomorrow night for what promises to be a display of high quality racing.
“It will be very competitive. It should be quick and action-packed,” said Broken Hill Speedway Club Secretary Dion Coulls.
“It should be a very good night of racing.”
Production Sedans are a class above regular street stock cars, giving the racers more scope to modify and increase the performance of their vehicles.
BH production sedan racer, Jonathon Oliver, has had his hands full ensuring his vehicle is ready for Saturday’s race after gear box trouble forced him to make last-minute repairs.
The 35-year-old has been racing against the clock to have his bright yellow VE Holden Commodore ready in time for it to be shipped to Mildura for tuning.
But Mr Oliver said he was now ready to race.
“I’m 100 per cent sure it’s all going to be a goer now,” he said.
Tomorrow will be the fourth time that the city has hosted the titles, and in addition to the titles there will be street stocks, motocross madness, sidecars, and junior stocks.
Gates open at 5pm with racing to begin at sundown. (See advertisement in tomorrow’s BDT for details).
