Morning tea on last day of trade
Wednesday, 2nd May, 2012
Everybody's IGA will be hosting a special morning tea to raise money and say goodbye on its last day of trading this week.
The Blende Street business which has been running for some 35 years and the McLeod family, which has owned it for the last 28 years, recently said tough economic times and an increase in costs had caught up with them.
The business’ last day is on Friday and Store Manager, Lauren Colmer, said the morning tea will run from 10.30am until the store closes.
“We will be having tea, coffee and cakes available for a gold coin donation plus donation boxes around,” Mrs Colmer said.
“I felt like we wanted to do something special to give the Cancer Council some support and for our last day.”
Mrs Colmer said it was the first year that Everybody’s had hosted a morning tea.
“We will be having in-store specials.
“We are hoping to raise at least $500. We would like everyone to come in and visit us.”
Mrs Colmer said the money raised will be matched dollar for dollar by Everybody’s.
