An all star line up will assemble in Broken Hill for this weekend’s ‘King of the Hill’ speedway race meeting.
The racers will take part in sidecar and Moto-X competitions in the event on Saturday night.
Broken Hill based sidecar racer, Daniel Stephens, is excited about the quality of the visiting riders.
“The top ten riders in Australia will all be there,” he said.
Headlining the visiting racers is the current sidecar world champion, Darrin Treloar.
Broken Hill Speedway Club Secretary, Dion Coulls, says the meet will be a good test for Broken Hill’s racers.
“It will be a good opportunity for our guys to put themselves up against Australia’s best,” Coulls said.
Darrin Howse and the Stephens brothers, Daniel and Rick, will lead the local charge for the ‘King of the Hill’ title.
“It’s the three of us taking on the rest of the Australia,” Rick said.
Rick is well placed to take on the competition after finishing sixth and eighth in the New South Wales and Victorian Speedway Sidecar Championships respectively.
He encourages as many people as possible to the speedway
“Everyone should get their backside trackside,” Rick said.
Speedway gates will open at 5pm, with racing to commence at sundown.
Admission is $20 for adults, $15 for student and concession card holders and $40 for a family.
