Super swimmers shine again

Numerous medals were won and several personal best times were smashed by Broken Hill's participants in the recent SA State Short Course Swimming Championships.
Broken Hill was represented by three swimmers from the Silver City Swim Club, in the competition for 13 to 18 year olds, which was held
over three days at the State Aquatic Centre in Adelaide.
Ellysia Oldsen, Indianna Paull and Jesse Cochrane- Adolfson competed with distinction, bringing home 11 medals and recording 10 personal best times between them.
Ellysia competed in the 16 years age-group winning a staggering 6 gold and 5 silver medals.
She won gold in the 50 and 100m butterfly, and 50 and 100m backstroke, with an impressive time of 1:04.13 for the 100m backstroke.
Her other gold medals came in the 100m medley and 100m breaststroke, where she recorded a personal best time of1:16.20, eclipsing her
previous best time by 2.43 seconds.
Ellysia won silver in the 50m freestyle, where her slick time of 26.71 was just 0.02 of a second from gold.
Another close finish in the 100m freestyle saw her come second by 0.12 of a second, with another personal best time of 59.05.
She also won silver medals in the 50m breaststroke, 200m backstroke and 200m medley.
Ellysia's outstanding results have gained her selection in the South Australian State Youth Development Squad for 2012.
Indianna Paull swam in the 13 years division, recording three top ten placings, as well as five personal best times. She finished sixth in the 200m butterfly, seventh in the 100m butterfly and tenth in the 50m breaststroke.
Indianna's five personal best times included an impressive 3.72 second improvement on her personal best in the 100m butterfly.
Jesse Cochrane- Adolfson also competed in the 13 years age group, achieving three top ten placings. He finished fifth in the 200m breaststroke,
ninth in the 50m butterfly and ninth in the 100m butterfly.
In addition, Jesse recorded two notable personal best times, improving by 2.42 and 2.97 seconds in both his butterfly events.
Attention now turns to the SA State Short Course Championships for swimmers aged 12 years and under. Broken Hill's Rohan Cutting, Kai
Pressler and Kiara Presser have all qualified and will compete at that event.
