Summer soccer sessions
Thursday, 18th October, 2012
Under 12 soccer players who are looking to take their game to the next level are being invited to try out for the Broken Hill Soccer Association's academy program.
The academy is held every year over the summer months and aims to improve and develop the skills of juniors.
BHSA Secretary, Lisa Baker, said the academy was a great way for kids to stay fit and receive specialised training in the off season.
"The training provided as part of the academy will focus on developing strong technical skills and the start of good game skills," said Ms Baker.
"The aim of the academy is to prepare and perform more effectively by providing activities that improves their technique, tactical awareness and their mental and physical preparation."
The academy program will consist of 14 sessions between November 2012 and March 2013, and any boy or girl born in 2001 or 2002 is welcome to attend trials.
Trials for academy squad selection will be held on October 22 and 29 at 6pm at the soccer grounds.
Players are expected to bring shin pads, boots and a water bottle.
Participation in the program is $60 per player and this can be paid once selection has been confirmed.
