An afternoon tea is being tomorrow to raise money for the Novita charity.
Pastor John Curtis is organising the event at the old Convent in Lane Street to help the charity after reading a story about it in the BDT.
"I like to support charities when they help locals," Mr Curtis said. Novita is a world leader in the research, development and provision of quality
services to children and families living with physical disabilities and acquired brain injuries.
It has been helping four-year-old BH girl Ciarn Williamson who has cerebral palsy.
Ciarn's father has joined Novita's 'Down Every Street Appeal' fundraiser and Mr Curtis thought it would be nice to add some support.
"I thought it was a worthwhile cause," he said.
"A free tour through the Convent will be provided and people can either sit on the balcony or have afternoon tea inside."
Cake and tea will be available for $6 from 2pm to 4pm.
"We have great chefs who cook really good food," Mr Curtis said.
He said the tour of the Convent will be a nice trip down memory lane for those who used to go to the Catholic school or board at the Convent.
