Boppin' with Dot

Hundreds of children enjoyed a special performance by Dorothy the Dinosaur and her friends at the Entertainment Centre yesterday.
Among the many fans of the Wiggles-inspired show was 19-month-old Ruby Sladden, who won tickets to the show through a competition run by the Barrier Daily Truth.
Ruby's prize also included meeting Dorothy before the show, which the youngster found a little overwhelming. But as soon as Dorothy took to the stage, Ruby was bobbing along to some of the best-known hits sung by the yellow-spotted green dinosaur and her friends. Yesterday's concert included appearances by Dorothy, Wags the Dog, Captain Feathersword, Henry the Octopus, Don the Postman and Fairies Larissa and Claire. Tour Manager Luke Field said the sold-out performance was based on television's The Wiggles Show. "This is a brand new show," Mr Field said. "It was sold out, which is fantastic." The concert was part of a national tour and Mr Field said the audience members were encouraged to sing and dance along with the cast members. "The kids do get the chance to get up and jump around."
