Four held at knifepoint

A man is due to appear in Broken Hill Local Court after he allegedly held four people at knifepoint for an hour yesterday.

Police were called to a Knox Street home at about 5pm, responding to a report that a man had assaulted a woman and threatened three other people, including a one-year-old baby boy and two girls aged 13 and 14. Officers arrested a 36-year-old man at the scene without further incident. He was taken to Broken Hill Police Station where he was charged with one count of take/detain person with intent to obtain advantage and occasion actual bodily harm, and two counts of take/detain person with intent to obtain advantage. A 42-year-old woman was treated for a bite to her left forearm. He was refused bail and held in custody.
