Bill's dream recurring
Friday, 20th March, 2009
Bill McLeod has achieved every golfer's dream and he's now done it four times. His latest hole-in-one was scored on the 16th hole at the city's grass course.
He said his fourth ace was reminiscent of his second.
"My first hole-in-one was in August 2001 on the thirteenth hole," Mr McLeod said.
"The second came in February 2005 on the sixteenth hole.
"The third was in August 2005 on the second hole and now this one, in February 2009, on the sixteenth hole.
"I 'm not superstitious, though."
Mr McLeod took up golf about 15 years ago when the Broken Hill Golf and Country Club grassed the course.
"It was in preparation for my retirement."
He was pragmatic about his fourth hole-in-one saying it was not all luck.
"In reality you do hit the ball towards the hole," he said.
"The objective is to hit into the hole and when you do ... well."
Mr McLeod said he used a seven iron and an Olympus senior golf ball. The club will now mount the ball with his other three hole-in-one balls.
