Club Legion's new General Manager has almost a decade of managerial experience.

Adrian McDonald will start his new position at the club on Tuesday.

Mr McDonald said he started a managerial traineeship at the Musicians' Club and later worked as an assistant manager at the Sturt Club.

"I have been doing this for about nine years," he said.

"I have enough experience in all areas of running a club.

"I saw it as a good opportunity and a good career move. I also saw it as a good challenge."

Mr McDonald replaces Ann Rogers who ran Club Legion for five years.

He said the club was well positioned and had plenty of potential.

"I think it is set out perfectly. It has a lot of potential the way it is laid out," Mr McDonald said.

"In the short term, we will finish off our renovations and I will take the temperature of the place.

"The Club Legion board is encouraging it to become a family friendly venue and we also have the challenge or trying to create new memberships.

"We want to cater for families but it is also important to make sure our regular clientele are happy as well."

Mr McDonald said the outdoor gaming area was in the process of being completed and should be finished by February.
