The Resource and Toy Library's open day yesterday was a huge success.

"We have had a massive turnout," said Library co-ordinator, Paigen Howarth.

The open day was held to encourage new families to attend and sign up as members.

Children up to the age of eight were invited to come along with their parents to enjoy face painting, a sausage sizzle, craft, play dough and water play.

"We signed a few families up today and we are hoping to sign up some more," Ms Howarth said.

"We had a really good turnout and the kids look like they are having lots of fun.

"It is good to see a lot of people supporting us."

The Toy Library is partly government funded but they have to raise $10,000 a year. To do that they run various fundraisers throughout the year.

Ms Howarth said the next fundraiser was a Valentine's Day raffle.

"Pop out and buy some tickets," she said.
