Far West HACC has rolled out a new bus for their new excursion calendar for those looking to get out of the house.
HACC has just released its 'Out and About' calendar for the February to November period with trips including lunch at the Democratic Club next month, an Easter trip to Copi Hollow in March and morning tea at the Daydream Mine in April.
There is also a trip to Mildura for Christmas shopping in November.
"We are here to give the home-bound section of the community a chance to get out from the lonely mundane life doing the house chores and looking at the four walls," said manager of community transport Sue Johnstone.
"It is surprising how many people, for some reason, either don't get out or have lost their self-esteem in wanting to go out."
The 'Out and About' service is run in conjunction with its normal run-about service which picks up house-bound people and takes them to the doctors, hospital appointments and shopping.
Excursions cost $25 per person which usually covers the cost of lunch, drinks and travel.
"We take two buses and we usually get about 20 people on a bus.
"We've got four buses so we could take more if the demand is there."
HACC also bought a new bus to add to their fleet, and changed the names on the buses from HACC to 'Far West Community Transport'.
Mrs Johnstone said people may feel "more comfortable" with the new name on the side of the bus.
