After two years of worry with the weather, the St Pat's races were blessed with a beautiful day on Saturday.
St Pat's Race Club President Marg Corradini said the 48th St Pat's Race meeting had been "absolutely fantastic".
"The committee is over the moon," Mrs Corradini said.
"The crowd has had a great time, there has been fabulous racing and everything has run smoothly.
"I enjoyed the whole day. I enjoyed the racing and mixing with the racing people.
"It is going to take time to get feedback, but I think the crowd enjoyed it.
"I think they enjoyed the layout of the course."
Mrs Corradini said after all the hard work, everyone who had given their time couldn't wait to "put their feet up".
The Green Room for the younger patrons, introduced last year, was again a hit and "with the young and young at heart," as was the Gary Radford Pavilion.
"This facility was sold out a month ago and hosted 350 patrons this year," she said.
The sponsors also won gratitude for all their help.
"We are again fortunate to have most generous race sponsors, all of whom are committed to seeing racing prosper in Broken Hill, as well as putting Broken Hill and surrounds on the map as one of outback New South Wales' social events of the year."
The racegoers also appreciated seeing the famous Takeover Target on the track, Mrs Corradini said.
"For racing people, this was one of the best things ever, to see a horse of his calibre," Mrs Corradini said.
"He was a lovely horse and people were able to get close to him."
