Broken Hill's roller skating champions Marie White and Robert Cracknell will compete against the cream of the crop at the Artistic Skating Oceania Championships next month.

The veteran duo will also be accompanied by first-timer Hannah Schofield when they travel to Sydney on April 1 for the fourday contest at the Whitlam Leisure Centre where 32 Australian skaters go up against the best from New Zealand, China and Japan.

Mr Cracknell has entered the Masters Men's Figure, and he and MS White will perform together in the dance discipline section.

Ms White will also perform in the Masters Women's Figure category. Teenager Hannah will compete in the Youth Solo Dance and Free Dance categories.

"I'm very excited," Hannah said.

"I just want to do my best and I'll be happy with that."

The trio was selected for their impressive showing at the National Championships.

Mr Cracknell and Ms White won two gold medals, one silver and one bronze between them when they competed at Oceania before.

"Robert and I have placed every year we've been there, so we want to keep up the tradition," Ms White said.

Mr Cracknell, who is based in Goolwa, is spending this week in Broken Hill training solidly for the competition.
