Alma Swimming Club Head Coach, Rachel Harvey is a worthy recipient of a Local Legend Award from South Australian Swimming Association.

On presenting Rachel with the framed award, Club President Richard McLean thanked Rachel for her tireless efforts within the club.

In addition to coaching the swimmers four nights a week, while pushing a pram poolside with two toddlers in tow, Rachel can always be found at the club's pointscore competition on Friday nights and Sunday mornings.

During school holidays and prior to carnivals Rachel also holds extra training sessions to help prepare the swimmers.

Rachel is also responsible for co-ordinating and teaching the Learn to Swim program, participates in fundraising activities and accompanies competitors to interstate carnivals, often leading by example by entering events herself, all the while encouraging the children to do their best.

She is also an administrator on the Alma Swimming Club Facebook site.

The Alma Swimming Club swimmers and families would like to congratulate Rachel on winning this award and acknowledge the hard work and dedication shown by Rachel.
