The Broken Hill Geebungs are looking for more players and sponsorship before the season starts.

Publicity officer Tanuoa Bugmy said the club had sent out almost 80 letters asking for sponsorship but had only received six responses.

"We would like to get help from people, even if it is in a small way," Ms Bugmy said.

"The help doesn't have to be financial. "The club has trouble supporting their players when it comes to travelling to play games.

"We go to Wilcannia, Menindee and also play in representative sides."

Ms Bugmy said the team was part of the Domestic Violence Program and received in-kind support from the Warra Warra Legal Service and help with fundraising.

But the club always got a team together before the season started, she said.

"We are struggling for players but we would just like to see some committed players and even some younger players.

"We want to see some new blood in the club and we are encouraging the community to join in."

The team trains on Tuesday and Thursday night from 6pm to 8pm at the Lamb Oval.
