To kick off the school holidays, the Broken Hill City Library held a craft session yesterday morning.

Library assistant Fiona Murray said they had planned six craft days over the holidays and yesterday was the first.

"We made monsters out of craft," Ms Murray said.

"On Wednesday, we will be making dream catchers and on Friday, we will be doing paddle pop craft.

"Then there will be three different craft days next week."

Ms Murray said there was a good turnout for the first craft session and she expects it to get better.

"As it gains momentum, we hope to get a good crowd next time," she said.

"The kids seem to enjoy themselves."

The craft sessions run from 11am to 12.30pm Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

They are open to all school aged children. For more information visit the Library's Facebook page.
