The last speedway event for the season is on Saturday night and it is shaping up to be a night of spectacular action.
The Broken Hill Speedway Club is presenting its King of the Hill event with competitors coming from all over Australia.
Speedway Club public relations officer Charlie Ray said having the current world champion and current Australian champion competing was big for the club.
"There will also be support events from classic sidecars, motocross and juniors," Ray said.
He said the Hedland brothers, Silvy and other interstate riders will be competitive, but the local riders would be among the action.
"How often do you get sporting guys from all over Australia coming here to race," Ray said.
"There are top-class fields, a good mixture of events for all ages ... it is a good family event," he said.
The gates open at 4pm, racing starts at 6pm. It is $35 per family, $15 for adults, $10 for pensioners and students and $5 for children over the age of 12.
"There will be canteen facilities available and after the meeting, people can go down into the pits; have a look and speak to the riders," Ray said.
This is the fifth and last meeting of the local speedway season.
"We run a speedway event once a month from November until now, as it starts to turn cold," he said.
"This is the best opportunity you have to come and have a look before it finishes for the year."
A crowd of about 1,000 people is expected to turn out.
