Professional and amateur singers alike are invited to attend a session with a famous Sydney voice teacher this weekend.
Leigh McCrae, from Vocal Mastery in Sydney, has trained famous artists such as Delta Goodrem, Human Nature, Marcia Hines, Denni Hines, Australian Idol winner Damien Leith, Casey Donovan and Melinda Schneider.
He has also worked with Sony Music and Warners and trained theatrical performers from Les Miserables, Phantom of the Opera, Chicago and Grease, among others.
Mr McCrae is holding the workshops as part of a visit organised by the Broken Hill Repertory Society with funding from the Regional Arts NSW's Country Arts Support Program (CASP).
The Repertory Society's Marilyn Harris said that this was the first time a vocal teacher of Mr McCrae's calibre has visited the city.
"There are quite a few singing students in Broken Hill and there's never been anything like this before," Mrs Harris said.
The workshops will be held at the Broken Hill Philharmonic Society's clubrooms on the corner of Crystal and Sulphide streets.
They will run on Saturday at 2pm until 4pm, and 6pm-9pm, and on Sunday 10am-1pm.
The cost is $50 per person, but if you book before Friday you can receive a $10 discount.
If more than one member of the family books, the cost is $30 each pre-paid.
Tickets can be purchased from Broken Hill Music at 5 Oxide Street or from Marilyn Harris on 8087 9585.
Those who participate will have the chance to perform in a Vocal Mastery concert the following weekend.
