The Broken Hill Pony Club’s annual fun day is on Sunday with a massive 44 events planned.
“This ranges from children on a lead to adults - it’s for all ages,” said the club’s publicity officer, Cecilia Norley.
“We’ve had a lot of interest. There is one family in White Cliffs who want to join and a Mildura family travelling up,” she said.
“We also had interest from a family on a property near Menindee.
“I think it will be a big attraction this year.”
There will be horse and rider combinations, hack races, thread the needle, egg and spoon race and musical mats. Even if you don’t have a pony you can still attend. A play gym and stables are also available.
“There will be homemade cakes and slices. Some of the parents got together to cook some things. There will be fruit platters, a barbecue, hot dogs and drinks,” Mrs Norley said.
Many businesses had also helped by donating goods.
The fun day is a fundraiser for the club and costs $10 for the 44 events if you are a member. For non-members it is $37.50 to cover insurance.
Ribbons will be awarded for first, second and third places.
The BH Pony Club grounds are on the corner of Kanandah and Wentworth roads.
“Entrants need to have an approved helmet and saddles can’t be horned,” Mrs Norley said.
The day begins at 9.30am and lunch is at 12.30. For more information contact Mrs Norley on 0422 054 828.
