The Railwaytown Public School students had a “wheelie” good time yesterday.

They were invited to bring something on wheels to school and push it around to raise money.

Assistant Principal, Julie Baldwin, said the event was organised by the Student Representative Council.

“We’ve been doing it for many years,” Mrs Baldwin said.

“The money raised goes back to the students and they decide how they want to use it.

“The students just had to bring something they could push or pull.

“They do laps around the school yard, then go out around the block to finish off.

“Parents, family and friends sponsor them.

“The quirkiest thing we have had is a few wheelie bins,” Mrs Baldwin said.
