Luncheon has the right ingredients

The South Australian Brewery and the Tydvil Hotel’s restaurant “1891” are teaming up to hold a charity luncheon on Friday.
The “Beer, Banter and Food” afternoon starts at the hotel at noon and 1891’s chefs, Brendan Barlow and Lia Hanford, are offering a four-course meal that will be matched with James Squire beers.
Joining the fundraiser luncheon as guest speakers will be Les Burdett and Mark Ella.
“Les has been described as the foremost curator in the world, sharing his passion for cricket, football and growing grass,” Brendan said.
“He served as the curator of the Adelaide Oval until 2010. He has also been hired to advise other international cricket grounds on the preparation of cricket pitches.”
Mr Burdett is also the SA ambassador for the Variety Charity and all the money raised from the lunch will go to the charity.
Mark Ella played in 25 Rugby Union Test matches for Australia, and captained the team in 10 of them.
“This luncheon is a good chance to support the Variety charity,” Brendan said.
“There has been a lot of interest, so people should get in quick if they would like a ticket.”
The tickets cost $100 and there are 50 available.
On the menu are yabbies, chicken parcels, parmesan-encrusted lamb racks and Tim-Tam cheese cake for dessert.
“It should be a really good afternoon and it is definitely worth coming,” said Brendan.
