On Friday everyone can take a load off their minds at Lifeline’s annual Stress Down Day.
Lifeline is encouraging people to get together with colleagues and friends to have a stress-free day and raise money for Lifeline.
Lifeline Broken Hill fundraising co-ordinator Trevor Odgers said this was the organisation’s biggest fundraiser.
“This is the fifth year it has run and it runs nationally,” Mr Odgers said.
“We always get a good response. It is growing each year.”
LIfeline sells slippers and holds a sausage sizzle.
“The pre-sale of the sausage sizzle is very popular. It will be cooked in the town square with the help of the Lions Club,” Mr Odgers said.
Lifeline’s manager Scott Hammond said they wanted everyone to get on board.
Thanks to sponsorship, the popular slippers will be available from the Stress Down Day website.
“You can wear your Stress Down Day slippers to work or school, wear your pajamas all day, dress up as your favourite super hero or have a relaxing morning tea - the choices are endless,” Mr Hammond said.
“All we ask is that you take time out from your busy day to have fun, stress less and help Lifeline save lives.
“Mark the date in your diary, buy a pair of slippers and start encouraging friends and colleagues to help make 2013 our most successful Stress Down Day yet.”
Mr Hammond said it was important to remember to look after yourself and in stressful times the Lifeline crisis number is always available on 13 11 14.
Visit stressdown.org.au to pick up your slippers or go to Broken Hill Lifeline Shop at 119-127 Argent Street.
