The Sturt Club is one of many businesses in the city that will be fundraising for Jeans for Genes Day this Friday.

Jeans for Genes Day is a national even when people wear their jeans to raise much-needed funds for research into birth defects and diseases such as cancer, epilepsy and a range of genetic disorders.

On Friday, workplaces, schools and streets will become a sea of denim in a united stance against childhood disease.

Assistant Manager of the Sturt Club, Mandy Turley, said the club will be taking donations all day and later from 5.30pm to 7.30pm.

“Everyone who donates $2 will win a prize,” Mrs Turley said.

“We do Jeans for Genes every year but we have decided to extend it to raise more money.”

Mrs Turley said the staff would also be dressing up and donating money.

“Every dollar raised will help the Children’s Medical Research Institute discover treatment and cures to help kids.”
