A car and a motorbike collided yesterday afternoon when a 31-year-old female driver failed to give way and turned in front of the oncoming bike, according to police.
The woman made a right-hand turn from Chloride Street into Cobalt Street in her black Hyundai wagon which hit the bike as it was travelling down Chloride St towards Argent Street.
The incident happened about 4.45pm and, very luckily, the rider suffered only minor injuries including swelling and grazing to the left leg and right arm.
He was treated by a paramedic who arrived on the scene along with police.
Both the car and the bike were towed away and the car driver was expected to be issued with an infringement notice for failing to give way, police said.
