Hollywood star Angelina Jolie will not film part of her new movie Unbroken in Broken Hill despite scouting for locations in regional NSW.
Jolie's second foray behind the camera chronicles the life of Olympic runner Louis Zamperini, who was taken prisoner during World War II by Japanese forces.
The partner of actor Brad Pitt is scouting for locations in Queensland, Sydney and regional NSW with Tamworth firmly on her radar.
She visited the city last month with children in tow to look at real estate in the small town of Werris Creek just outside the city.
Andrea Roberts, Development and Economic Manager with the Broken Hill City Council, confirmed Broken Hill wouldn't be a filming location.
"They are not coming out here," Ms Roberts said.
"We've definitely made outreach to people involved in the project to attract them out here for a look but they don't really want what we've got to offer."
Unbroken is expected to be released next year.
