Community service organisations took a load off and “stressed less” yesterday to host a special event in the Town Square.
“The day is all about promoting positive mental health through little activities,” CentaCare co-ordinator Kate Phillips said.
As well as stalls from the participating services, there were play stations for children, dancing, singing and a sausage sizzle.
“We have been meeting weekly and fortnightly, as part of the social and emotional well-being committee, to try and organise the event,” Ms Phillips said.
“In previous years, the day has been really beneficial.
“We are trying to get away from the taboo about mental health.
“We want people to come and see us so we can help them.”
