Playing in the park is what children do, but yesterday there was something special going on.

It was Children’s Day in Sturt Park for National Children’s Week.

Organised by the Broken Hill Early Childhood Education and Child and Family Services, it was part of a week of activities to highlight the importance of play to children.

Along with the playing, the kids enjoyed a sausage sizzle and displays by preschools, the hospital and services such as the NSW Police Force.

The activities continue today with a tour of children’s services to see what options are available to families.
