After suffering the sounds of cats on his tin roof, Alwyn Bressanelli will finally be able to get some peace and quiet.
The Hill Street resident was kept awake by constant meowing on Tuesday night but a quick inspection revealed nothing on Wednesday.
The sound began again that night and Mr Bressanelli realised he had a problem on his hands.
He called the State Emergency Service, police, and veterinarian Guillaume Tabuteau to report that there were cats trapped somewhere in his home.
The SES arrived yesterday to investigate.
They found a litter of stray kittens in the roof, with two under the iron and a third in a wall.
The kittens were rescued and Mr Bressanelli thanked the SES for their help.
“They’ve done a wonderful job. I’m very appreciative,” he said.
