BDT Advertising Manager, Peter Keenan is hoping that this year’s Christmas Appeal is big enough to fill three rooms.

The Annual BDT Christmas Appeal has started again and Mr Keenan said it was a good time to help those less fortunate.

“The Christmas Appeal is in it’s 26th year and every year we receive enough presents to fill up two rooms,” Mr Keenan said.

“Every year we always get an excellent response from the people of Broken Hill.

“It would be great if we could get even more.”

Mr Keenan said donations could include Christmas gifts, toys and non-perishable items.

“Christmas can be a hard time for families and it would be good to be able to help those that struggle,” he said.

All the donations are distributed between Lifeline and the Salvation Army.

“It doesn’t matter how big or small the donations are, it all helps,” Mr Keenan said.

The appeal closes on Friday, December 13 and the donations will be collected the following Monday by various local charities.

Mr Keenan said it was important to make sure the donations were not gift wrapped.

“We want to be able to distinguish between girls and boys gifts and for what ages,” he said.

Presents and donations may be dropped off at the BDT during office hours.
