RSL sorts wreath confusion

Remembrance Day services has prompted a message from the local RSL.

Secretary of the Broken Hill RSL, Des Kennedy said they had some confusion with wreaths on Monday.

Mr Kennedy said the wreaths are left at the RSL.

“If people want to lay a wreath during a service, they need to request one,” he said.

“Then the wreath needs to be brought to the RSL about a week before a service.”

Mr Kennedy said this came about because at this year’s ANZAC day service people didn’t attend to lay their wreaths.

“Half the people didn’t turn up and we were left with the wreaths,” he said.

“A letter of request needs to be sent at least a week before an ANZAC Day service or Remembrance Day service.”

Mr Kennedy said people were asking on Monday, on Remembrance Day, where their wreaths were.
