All the colours of the rainbow will be floating through the air for the Willyama High School’s Colour Run today.
Willyama High School’s fun fundraiser, “Colours of Summer Festival” is on this afternoon.
The fundraiser is being hosted by SRC members.
SRC co-ordinators, Kay Henderson and Megan Harris, said it was part of their Acceptance Week activities.
The Color Run is a three-kilometre, race where local participants, or “Color Runners”, are doused from head to toe in different colors at each kilometre.
The Colours of Summer Festival will be held from 3.30pm to 7.30pm at the Willyama High School oval. The Colour Run will start at 6pm and sign up will be at 4.30pm. There is a $5 entry fee and runners will be required to wear a white t-shirt.
“You don’t have to run, you can walk or skip - whatever you like. The run isn’t about who finishes first; it’s just about having fun,” Ms Henderson said.
All participants will go into the draw to win a hamper.
The money raised by the festival will go back towards the school.
Willyama’s principal Grant Shepherd said the event was about having fun.
“I don’t think there has been anything like this in Broken Hill,” he said.
“Hopefully, people will come out because they are curious and want to try out.
“It’s not about competition, but all about having fun.”
There will also be stalls, games and food and drinks available.
