Laurence Camilleri has been honoured by the Governor of NSW, Professor Marie Bashir, for his 43 years of service to St John Ambulance Australia in Broken Hill.

Laurence joined St John in 1970 and following his promotion to Member of the Order in 1986, he held the position of Divisional Superintendent and helped build the Broken Hill Division into a thriving part of the local community.

During his time with St John, he was also credited with building an enthusiastic and effective management team while ensuring the training program maintained its relevance and practicality.

In 1997, Laurence relinquished the role of Divisional Superintendent and was appointed Divisional President.

He continues to perform a vital role in the city by hosting fundraising events that generate much-needed funds and promotion for St John.
