The Barrier Rangers Bush Walking Club will hold its first walk for the year on Sunday, March 30.

It will be an easy, half-day meander in what was once known as the Broken Hill Common on the Nine Mile Road.

The Barrier Rangers has an exciting agenda for the first half of the year.

The club aims to cater for all ages and fitness levels.

President, Matt Bromson, has great plans for those looking for adventure and physical challenges.

The first walk is designed for those who are interested in enjoying a Sunday stroll in the hills surrounding Broken Hill.

Most of the walk will be on dirt tracks with a short hike through a hidden valley with rocky water holes, ferns and wildflowers.

There will be spectacular views ... bring a camera. The walk will be suitable for children and newcomers to bush walking.

Prospective walkers must let the leader of this walk, Ann Evers, know of their intention to come along by Thursday, March 27. You can ring Ann on 0438 939 242. Details of where we meet and what you will need will be given when you ring.
