Go back in time this weekend to the 1940s and the great songs of the era with the latest concert at Theatre 44.

Marilyn Harris has again organized a production full of memories and songs, many from the time of the Second World War.

Along with Marilyn’s student the show will feature guest spots from singers Diane Cotterill and June Marie Bennett.

Joining them will be Sandra Warren, Chris Harrison, Dylan McLachlan and new talents Samantha Gogler and Adrian Kent-Johnston.

This will be the last performance in Broken Hill for several of Marilyn’s students.

“Jaruwan, Annette and Isabel Kemp, who will sing a trio in the concert, are leaving in two weeks to live in Lismore,” she said.

“Annette and Isabel will be joined by their sister, Trisha, Hailey Cox and Tasmin Martin, to present a short play.”

Lindsay Scott is also gracing the stage for the last time here because next week he leaves for the UK.

“It is really sad to lose all this wonderful talent from Broken Hill, but we wish them all the very best,” Marilyn said.

“We plan to remove a few of the seats on the Sunday so that we can provide wheelchair access as necessary.”

The concert will be held on Saturday at 7.30pm and Sunday at 2.00pm. Tickets cost $10 for adults and $8 concession, and are available at the door. The canteen will be in open for refreshments.
