The Y’s Men’s Club of Broken Hill has chipped in to give junior footy a kick along for the upcoming season.
The charity organisation has donated footballs and bags to the four clubs in the Under 13 and 15 age groups.
Each grade has been given four Sherrins, while the bags have been printed with the respective club’s logo.
Y’s Men’s member Peter Stewart said the contribution had been in the works for some time.
“It is the first time we have done something like this but we’re looking at making it an ongoing contribution,” he said.
“Some of the fathers who have boys that play footy suggested it... we then brought it to the board.
Member of the Competition Management Committee, Scott Dunn, said the gesture was appreciated.
“They approached us last year and said they wanted to help out in some capacity,” he said.
“As most would know in junior footy, every little bit help so we’re very grateful for the donation.”
Dunn said the balls would be used at training.
The U13 and U15 seasons begin on Saturday, April 12.
