Former Central player Lachlan McGregor will line up in his first game for Woodville-West Torrens Eagles in the SANFL today.
The 24-year-old small forward has been named in the forward pocket for his new club.
He transferred to the Eagles in the off season after spending four years with Langhorne Creek in the Great Southern League.
McGregor played A Grade footy in Broken Hill for the Magpies as a 15-year-old and was a member of Under 16 and U18 NSW/ACT Rams squads.
Woodville-West finished second on the ladder last season but were eliminated in the second week of the finals.
The SANFL competition kicked off on Thursday night and attracted the second highest rating for a home and away match broadcast on television since 2001.
An average of 72,261 viewers tuned in on 7Mate for the match between Norwood and Port Adelaide, which included commentary from former Silver City media personality John Casey.
The Eagles’ Round One game against Central District begins at Maughan Thiem Hyundai Oval at 2.30pm.
