The chances of spotting a Wedgie in action at the moment are very high.

The huge and majestic Wedge-tailed Eagle is currently soaring high above the city and performing some impressive aeronautical displays for their mates.

“The Wedgie is found right across Australia. It prefers open woodlands where its favourite food, rabbits, can be easily spotted,” Susanna Bradshaw,

CEO of the Foundation for National Parks and Wildlife said.

“These birds get their name from their distinctive diamond shaped tail.”
