A versatile performer is keeping the locals “Young at Heart”.

Dallas Atkins and his wife Bonnie, from Canberra, have been travelling around NSW performing their interactive show “Young at Heart” and this week they have been doing their show for local seniors.

“Part of the show is a sing-along for the senior residents,” Bonnie said.

“We’ve been to St Anne’s Nursing Home, Harold Williams Nursing Home and Aruma Lodge. We will also be visiting the HACC Centre.”

On Saturday night there will also be a performance at the Salvation Army.

“The evening will start at 5pm at the Salvation Army’s Wolfram Street premises,” Bonnie said.

“There will be a sausage sizzle and then there will be local children performing from 6pm.

“Then Dallas’ family-friendly show ‘Dallas Live’ will be on from 7pm.”

Dallas sings popular songs, does his own music and even throws in a spot of magic, puppetry and comedy.

“This has been our career for the past 25 years - we have been travelling all around Australia,” said Bonnie .

“We have been around the country about seven times, but this is our second time in Broken Hill.”

She said the show had received a great response from the nursing homes.
