The city library will be jam-packed with activities over the school holidays.
Over the two-week break the Charles Rasp Library will be holding sessions that will include craft, activities and other fun games.
“If parents aren’t sure how to keep their kids busy over the school holidays, we have lots on offer,” said Library assistant Jacqui Smith.
There will be free craft sessions on Monday, Wednesday and Friday on both weeks of the holidays. They start at 11am and run until 12.30pm.
“There are board games and LEGO available to play,” Jacqui said.
“Just ask one of the staff at the front counter.”
There will also be a Teddy Bears’ Picnic and a Games Day.
“The Teddy Bears’ Picnic will be on Thursday July 10 from 3pm to 5pm.
“Join us for fun, games, craft and special guests in the afternoon, with the Teddies once again staying at the library for a sleep over.
“It will be similar to the one held last year. Sign in is at 2.30pm.”
Jacqui said the games day will include children participating with games consoles, board games and computer access.
“It is for children aged 8 to 15 and will be on July 12,” she said.
“It will run from 2pm - 5pm. It is a $2 entry fee.
“Nibbles and drinks will be provided for a gold donation.
“Parents are invited to stay and watch the activities.”
Jacqui said the library is always a popular destination during the school holidays.
“Some days we get 20 - 40 children visiting,” she said.
“On previous Games Days we have had up to 70 children come in.”
The library will also hold a “Tickle Your Tastebuds” session.
“This is for any food lovers, it will be a cooking club,” Jacqui said.
“People can come and share recipes and ideas. This is open to anyone.
“It will be held on the last Sunday of the month from 2pm - 4pm.”
