The dedication and hard work of Silver City Swim Club members has been recognised.
The club has been named by Swimming SA as the top South Australian Country Club in both the Junior Excellence (JX) and Division Two Short Course Series point scores for the season.
The club's athletes had their last hit-outs at recent competitions in Adelaide before the SA State Age Short Course Championships next month. Competing at the Division
One, JX and Division Two Meets, Kai Pressler, Kiara Pressler, Lydia Hinton-Neal and Kalyce Pressler proved they are all in excellent form, achieving between them 20
personal best times, 14 state qualifying times and 13 JX standards to gold level.
Division One and Two Results: Twelve-year-old Kiara Pressler achieved six first placings, four state qualifying times, four JX standards to silver level, and three personal bests.
She bettered her 200m breaststroke time by 7.27 seconds to put her 5.19 seconds under the state qualifying time, and exhibited a mighty effort in the punishing 1500m freestyle event.
Showing her all-round talent, Kiara has now qualified in a total of 16 events, in all four strokes and individual medley, for the approaching State Championships.
Kai Pressler (14) registered two wins, a second, four thirds, and swam PBs in all seven events entered. His freestyle times are improving dramatically with a massive 2 minute and 58.60 second break in the 800m freestyle.
