Chamber elects new board

For the f irst time in 16 years, the Broken Hill Chamber of Commerce has a full board of 12 members.
The new Board was appointed at the Chamber's Annual General Meeting held on Tuesday night.
Ann Rogers retained the Chamber's Presidency and Jim Richards was elected Vice-President.
Mr Richards said he looked forward to bettering himself and the community in the new role.
"I took it on because I want to challenge myself and take on a leadership position," he said yesterday.
"I hope to help the Chamber (in) advocating for, and representing the interests of small business in Broken Hill. I'm feeling very excited to work with so many successful and diverse business people."
Meanwhile, Ms Rogers told the Chamber that Broken Hill was entering an exciting new era and urged business and industry to unite so that all opportunities were embraced.
"As we reposition ourselves on a global scale as a world heritage city, I encourage our members and the wider business community to get involved with the projects that are going to take place in the next few years to ensure that Broken Hill remains a vibrant and sustainable community."
