The family of a missing Bendigo man has released new photographs of their son in the hope that it triggers the memory of someone who may know where he is. Daniel Rosewall was last seen in Bendigo when he arrived for work at the family business on Wednesday, January 27 - 16 days ago - and he disappeared north of Silverton soon after.

The 28-year-old's parents, David and Julie Rosewall, said their son asked to borrow the family's car about mid-afternoon that day, left work and never returned. Broken Hill police contacted the family two days later to inform them that they had found the family's red Mazda 3 about 30 kms north of Silverton, but there was no sign of Daniel.

Both his mobile phone, which had a flat battery, baseball cap and his wallet were found inside the vehicle. "We received a phone call on the Friday night to say that they had found our car in Broken Hill," Mr Rosewall said.

"We have absolutely no idea why Daniel would go to Broken Hill. Daniel doesn't have any friends or connections that we know of in Broken Hill.

"I doubt that he had ever even been to Broken Hill before now," Mr Rosewall said in a statement yesterday. David and Julie said Daniel was his normal self on the day that he left work, there was nothing about him to indicate that he was planning a trip. It was a normal day. "Disappearing like this is completely out of character for Daniel," Mr Rosewall said.

"We are baffled. We have no idea what has happened or where he is. "It is a mystery to us why he would head to Broken Hill in the first place. "We just hope that he is safe and well and until we hear any differently, we will stay focused on finding him." As far as the family knows there was nothing significant occurring in his life that would trigger his disappearance.

The family spent almost two weeks in Broken Hill, assisting police with the search for Daniel before returning home to Bendigo."Daniel is a really nice guy and respected by those who know him," Mr Rosewall said."We would like to express our sincere appreciation to all those involved in the search for Daniel in Broken Hill." They have asked anyone who has information about Daniel or who may have seen Daniel to contact Broken Hill Police on 08 8087 0299 or Crime Stoppers 1800 333 000.

Daniel is described as being of Caucasian complexion and is 178cm tall. He was last seen wearing a grey-collared polo shirt, dark coloured shorts, black
