The Barrier Boys Football side headed across to Nowra on the NSW south coast from the 8th to the 10th of June to play in the PSSA Football State carnival.

Despite being up against some highly fancied opposition the boys managed to play extremely well. It was fantastic to see the famous Barrier spirit alive and well even though we were so far from home. After two days and six gruelling contests the boys had to fire up for one final game against North West. It was to be a mammoth task, after all it has been six years since Barrier conjured a victory at this particular carnival. The parents were vocal in their support for the side. The boys fired up and they managed to gain a 1-1 draw with
their more experienced
opponents. They came
within inches of securing
just their second victory
in six years after a strike
from Yeboah Amoafo
brushed the posts with
only seconds to go!
A huge thank you to the
parents for their tireless
support and to the boys
for their unrivalled effort
and determination.
